Malaysian Newport LST KD Sri Inderapura gutted by fire

Looking at that hull & superstructure, it looks to my (amateur) eye as if it's designed for more speed, & less internal capacity in relation to tonnage, than most LPDs.
Not trying to be picky here, I know that Chinese shipbuilding has improved a lot over the years, but I'm still concerned about the building standards and damage control facilities. For service with the RMN, it's safe to say that the Chinese fire control and radar will be replaced and so will the AK-630 CIWS [which is useless anyways against modern sea skimmers].The good news is that it's powered by MTU diesels. I'm just guessing but it probably has almost the same load capacity as the Newport LST.
