China employs a variety of helos, for exact information check http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/aircraft/helicopter/mi17.asp
However no dedicated combat helicopter such as Apache or Tiger is in service with the PLA. They got some quiet old Gazelle attack choppers and the most notable indigenous model seems to be the WZ-9 attack helicopter. There is some new model in the making for some time now however I am not aware of some new developments concerning its introduction, AFAIK there exists not even some exact introduction date.

India has nearly 500 Helicopters with 300 in IAF and 200 in Indian army.
IAF operates mostly Russian Heli's like Mi-8(Transport),Mi-17(Assault),
Mi-26(Largest in the world),Mi-35 Hind (Attack).
India army operates slightly small heli's Cheetah and Chetak but suited for high altitude role and due to be replaced by ALH Dhruv.
Indian Navy operates Seaking,Chetak,Ka-28,Ka-31(AEW) heli's.
Indian army is looking to increase its Heli strenght to 315 with 45 Heli's per regiment and a total of 7 Regiments.
Dhruv Multipurpose Heli is to replace Chetak and Cheetah,Although it can carry ATGM's for attack role but cannot be configured as true Attack Helicopter.May that is why India wants to develop LCH.

Even LCA and LCH have decent payloads to peform their missions.
For heavy payloads India buys it from Russsians for ex Mi-26 which has a very big payload 20,000kg and also Su-30MKI is a true heavy Class Fighter.
I don't why India wants to develop all Light machines?
