the idea to procure MiG-29, while already having the much more superior Su-27/-30, still doesn't make sense to me. So yes, "diversification" is just an excuse to commit corruption

Mig 29 and M346 from E-Sollution still not being confirmed but I suspect M346 as Hawk 200 replacement will have much stronger probability to be execute. M346F is also rumours part of procurement condition frm Italy Parliement grant for Garibaldi, including PPA and Sub.

Indonesia is corrupt country, no doubt about that. However corruption still happen even in every corner of the world. In other case, even text book G to G scheme for F-16 and AH-64E, still can be corrupted Dihukum Seumur Hidup, Brigjen Teddy Selewengkan Dana Pembelian F16 dan Apache. Thus it should be differed between corruption and haphazard procurement policies.

Corruption practices has to be proven, and if later on current procurement can be proven, and like the corruption case on AH-64E, then it will be later on shown eventually. Even G to G with US there're brokerage that involve. Boeing and LM also use sales lobby. Perhaps current brokerage like E-Sollution in fact just more 'visible' in their practices compare to other 'western' brokerage, that can be camouflage under G to G agreement.

This brokerage turn into MIC wannabe now also being approach by US sales team. This is shown how even procurement scheme that consider by many as more stringent one, the relationship existance of brokerage in sales lobby still happening.

There're so many believes especially in South East Asia forums that using middle man (brokerage) lead to corruption. While this is also common practices in many government and commercial procurement everywhere.

Corruption can still come whether coming from proper scheme or from loosen ones. It is all back to the financing scheme control and assets production and deliveries scheme. This is ussually where potential invoicing discrepencies happen, and under the table payment occured.

It is understandable and maybe even standard that lobbyists/agents get financial compensation, and if officials/politicians/officers getting a nice bonus while modernizing/improve the Indonesian armed forces, why not?

But it becomes regrettable and just wrong if because of those bonus receivers, TNI becomes an inefficient, ineffective, chaotic and weak armed forces.

And on top of this, the amount of luxurious and extreme expensive VIP transport vehicles (escort motorcycles, cars, helicopters, business jets) is just ridiculous and not proportional to the requirement and our limited budget.

This no arguement on that. VIP sq now being enlarge from 1 (Sq 17th) to 3 (Sq 17th, 18th, and 45th). 17th handle Boeing 737, 18th Falcon 8X, and 45th Helicopters. Enlarging squadrons base on type is make sense on operational practices. Question still why the need to enlarge VIP squadrons ahead of the need on operational ones.

TNI becomes an inefficient, ineffective, chaotic and weak armed forces.
On this I have to see the development. So far for sure procurement of 42 Rafale is the largest in both number and scope. This kind of procurement not having done in scope since Soeharto era Hawk 200/100. Thus this is not inefficient trend.

Will see if those rumours procurement coming through or not. I'm still not see contracted money trail yet. Sales lobby and procurement intention in Indonesia does not automatically make into Contractual Payment yet. Finance Minister just being replace, and from what I Heard of new minister, he is more stringent on budget calculation.

TNI-AU F-16 doing refueling exercise with the courtesy of RSAF A330 MRTT. TNI AU and RSAF cooperation om this has been done for years, as effort to keep F-16 pilots proficiencies on air refueling.

Still I also sense this is part of A330 MRTT campaign. Like I said before, the IL-78 sales lobby momentum seems increasing, but does not mean Airbus lobby not fight back.
