Keris is reporting on Facebook that there are signs that an A330-900 from Garuda will be bought by the government to turn it into one more VIP-aircraft.

From what I heard from Finance Guys circle, Danantara inject more capital to Garuda. Some of them for MRO existing aircraft, also buying up some leased aircraft, and doing MRO to increase fleet readiness.

On buying up leased aircraft, this will be done (on my understanding) through goverment owned leasing company and lease back to Garuda. Garuda have lot of financial efficiency problem due to previous miss management and corruption, however the biggest part is in large number of inefficient leasing contract. Thus by doing this, Danantara want to significantly reduce lessor number and lease back to Garuda, thus the cash flow will be more circulating between State Owned Enterprises under their control.

So there's big probable thar the particular A330-900 that Keris FB mentioned can be part of the scheme. From what I gather several 777-300 ER, A330-900 and 737-8 part of the scheme. This means instead rent it from Garuda as previously done, Goverment owned that aircraft and lease back to Garuda. Means Garuda maintain the fleet, but has to give back to government whenever VVIP need arrise.

Nice Picture frm 32nd Sq (circulate by Keris FB), on Collins Glass Cockpit of C-130H that recently finish MLU (#1317). The aircraft just land on the 32nd Sq home base at Malang AB.

In my opinion the MLU on cockpit is significant enough, that basically it is different cockpit altogether.
