indian army will carry trials on two variants of israeli artillery missiles after the lod based israeli aircraft industries increases their target distance to 450 kms from 300 kms although this will bring down the conventional payload from 300 kms to 250 kms.
mounted on t-90 tanks and requiring none of prithvis elaborate preparations the directorrate of artillery is enthusiastic about them, and will be built to army's specifications for high altitude trajectories, and have anti glare and moisture protective properties, unlike prithvi which is nuke capable and under stratejic forces command these missiles will be under mainline army units.(i got this from bharat rakshak forum)
are these the lora missiles which the army was planning to acquire :?: the specification for lora was 300kms range and 500kgs warhead.
on the forum some claimed that iai finished modification on 1.5 ton 450 kms range missile israel recently tested one of these missiles.9fired from a ship).
