I realise that the decommissioned frigates Melbourne and Newcastle have been sold to Chile and I was just interested in the current situation regarding their transfer.
Where are they now, has their colour scheme and appearance etc been changed and have they been renamed yet.

Coronavirus: Marinos contagiados en Australia evidencian transferencia de fragatas a Chile
(Coronavirus: Contagious sailors in Australia show transfer of frigates to Chile)
According to the article the transfer crews has been at HMAS Kuttabul receiving training since the beginning of the year.
Capitán Prat (former Newcastle) transfer planned to occur in May, Almirante Latorre (former Melbourne) in the second half of the year
translation from the article:
" The news that six members of the Chilean Navy (ACh) are under solitary confinement in a hotel in Sydney in Australia , after being positively diagnosed with Coronavirus infection , has confirmed that this force is preparing to receive in the coming months. two Adelaide Class frigates , withdrawn from service by the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) in 2019 and acquired by the Chilean government at the end of that year.

According to sources in Santiago and Valparaíso, the six Chilean naval personnel diagnosed with Coronavirus would be part of a group of 100 specialists, who arrived in Australia between the end of last year and January of this year. Since then the group has been receiving training at the RAN Training Fleet Support Unit (FSU), located at the HMAS Kuttabul Naval Base in Potts Point, Sydney. ..."

Thanks for that @FormerDirtDart seems to be a much bigger story in Chile than Australia, absolutely nothing at all out of the Navy or ADF Media and all a Google search gives you is the story in the Australian Newspaper from 27 dec. Wikipedia has it in there page on the Adelaide class FFGs though
Of course that will be delayed now due to COVID-19.
I may have to withdraw this post due ti further information received.

I found the article by doing a Google search for "Chilean ship Almirante Latorre", then just a 'News' search for "Almirante Latorre", which I found on HMAS Melbourne's Wikipedia page
