Aim 120D on the F-35?

The F-35 can use all other versions of the Aim 120, can it also use the Aim 120D version? Or will we not know till it comes out?

At this point AFAIK, no. Both the F-35A/B/C and the AIM-120D (aka AIM-120C-8) are still in testing, neither has entered service. Assuming there are no cancellations in either project then it is very likely that an F-35 will be able to use an AIM-120D once IOC has been achieved in both programs.

Has the F-35 ever flown with ANY sort of missiles yet, in weapons bay or under the wings? For testing/approving aerodynamic characteristics or even the targeting/firing system perhaps?
