RSS=Real Simple Syndication

Easy way to deliver content to website users / visitors without them having to come online. For example: If you were to have news RSS, gallery rss and forum rss in a RSS reader like PLUCK or search on google for many more... you would be shown latest posts, news and gallery updates (with thumbnails) at your desktop without you even have to logon to DT or visit DT. You can then click on the picture or post or news link to read the full item.

Around 100 nice avatars added... how to get those? Click on the USERCP link on the top navigation, then on left side click on the AVATAR link and then choose "whatever" category.

Sidebar implemented on forum home and gallery home pages only. It should come useful once you get the feel of it...

Now you can play video and media files directly in the post!

Just use the new MEDIA bbcode button or tags like:

[media] url to the movie file from video sites [/ media] without the space.

Recent upgrades and features

The forum software has been upgraded with some great features. You will notice as you browse along...

Also some enhancements have been made to the threads where users are given options to post the thread to their favorite link sharing portal. (see screenshot in attached image)

The news articles pages and tools, info related to the article have been reorganized into one place, at the bottoms and rightsides of the article. (see attached image for a screenshot)

The country flags are gone and will be restored soon with more "modern" looking flags.

Another thing for everybody, if you LOGIN to the forums, you will have a chance to browse with LESS ads.

In order to fight the spam terrorists that come on with their nokias and sony crap. You would think these people would go to NOKIA and SONY (cellphone, game) websites to sell their stuff and not military/defence...

Anyway, any new members wanting to insert URLs/LINKS in their posts would need at least 15 posts or more before they are able to do so.

In addition to that, the users with less than 10 posts will be scanned for special keywords, etc. and if matched their posts will be sent to moderation queue thus not letting the general users and visitors see what type of spam was posted.

Some new avatars added for the users who care about their avatar (picture under the username as seen next to my username).

Visit the User Control Panel > Edit Avatar > Animated Smiley to view the new ones

ALL users can now upload bigger avatars, 125x85 instead of smaller 60x60 or 80x80. The thumbnails from the gallery pictures should fit nicely... if you don't find anything interesting in the avatars directory in your profile, just go over to the pictures section and you have over 34,000 picture thumbnails to choose from!!!

Also, PM storage has been increased by big margin for ALL members as well. All users with more than 50 posts can use PM capability on DT Forum, just check yours.

If you subscribe to threads and receive emails everytime thread is updated with a post, you will no longer see the post message. Please click on the thread link in the email to see the reply.

Due to large volumn of emails that go out on daily basis (we have over 1000+ messages in queue) I had to make the messages generated by the forum and thread subscription smaller. The positive side of this is we will see you more often on the forum and that is a good thing!

You may see forum/thread look change a bit, usernames are displayed on top of the post rather than to the left side. Just trying something new, don't panic.

Just one issue, the new layout doesn't seem to work on smart phones (Iphone in my case) all that well...

It doesn't look the same and doesn't seem to fit on the page as well...

Still looks just fine on my Mac-book. I kinda like it better the old way though. . my opinion.

Yep, the old way was a bit easier to read since it kept avatar, name, location, post count info in a neat little stack on the left side.

If you are a new member with less than 10 posts, you WILL NOT be able to post links or email addresses in new threads/posts/replies.

I hope this cuts down on most of the spam that is posted.
