This Harimau/Kaplan APC supposedly replacing AMX13 VCI.

However just like Harimau MT (Medium Tank) variance, it is doubtful the production run can replace them all soon (or even they can replace them all). For that retrofit version like the picture above seems going to be comtinue produce as well. It is been circulate it will use Cummins Dongfeng engines replacing Navistar engines from previous Retrofit batches.

The ships from TNI-AD do not come often in the news, so this is an opportunity for us to take a closer look.
ADRI-LII has left the harbour last week for Sumatra to supply mineral water, food, medicines and heavy equipment for natural disaster relief.

Two interesting videos about the construction of an emergency bridge in Sumatra.

Something else, for a couple of years there are plans to create a civil version of the Pindad Maung, but until now the car is only built and delivered for the armed forces, police and ministers. According to this video (with footages of foreign cars which had nothing to do with Pindad), Pindad is now preparing to build a factory/assembly plant in Subang, north of Bandung. The idea is that starting from 2028 the facility is ready to build 100.000 cars each year, with eventually an output of 500.000 cars a year. Personally i think this is overoptimistic and totally impossible, thinhs like this will maybe take a decade, specially in places like Indonesia.

Harimau/Kaplan APC already in official Pindad product line up. Usually Pindad only put in their official line up, if they are certain MinDef procurement contract will come soon. Officially Harimau MT and Harimau APC still plan as AMX 13 and AMX VCI replacement.

Turkey-puts-105mm-Roketsan-MZK-turrets-on-aging-M60A3-tanks.jpg

There are rumours that MinDef only put 18 on firm order, as they want alternative for Cockerill 105 mm Turret and Gun. There are local company that being contracted to build alternative turret. However seems it is stuck on development.

Now rumours on Roketsan MZK-105mm Turret that Turkiye use for their M60-A3 upgrade, are being lobby by Roketsan as alternative turret. It is 13 ton with Gun thus make it heavier then Cockerill 10 ton weight of turret and gun. Eventough it is lighter then cold war 105mm turret.

Turret-MZK-105-mm.jpeg

Considering Turkiye MIC close relationship lately with Indonesian defense companies, I put this as probable. L7 or M68 105mm gun still available in market and potentially cheaper to source rather then Cockerill 105 gun. So it has sign of probable scenario.

On 20 November last year the Acceptance Test for the Shiwa Tactical Vehicle was successfully conducted in Ciater, Subang. It looks like the test complex belongs to the army.
I think the Shiwa is from the same class as the ILSV from by J-Forces (under PT Jala Berikat Nusantara Perkasa) and the Pindad Komodo.

Excalibur Army signed a deal to supply more than 100 Patriot 4 x 4 in various configurations to an unnamed customer in SEA.

There are some suggestions that it could be Indonesia, maybe KorMar. But it seems... unrealistic? There are various 4 x 4 options available to ID via domestic partners with Pindad or SSE.

Not Malaysia, their plans always involve some local assembly and their HMAV program already have partners; Philippines has a need but they set their sights on cheap Korean platforms (KMPV). Thailand have domestic options (Chaiseri) and same for Vietnam. Laos/Brunei don't need such numbers and Cambodia get theirs through China.

Any insights into this?

This is part of Excalibur and Republikorp agreement on licensing Patriot 4x4 in 2023. How licensing production detail and whether this more than just final assembly is not clear yet. However the talk is Republikorp going to build the facility in Batam. Seems Batam become Republikorp base on production facilities for their multi services defense projects.

According to these two articles, the value of the contract seems to be $300 million for 100 vehicles.

Sebuah negara Asia Tenggara yang tidak disebutkan namanya, memesan 100 kendaraan lapis baja Patriot ll dari Ceko

Looking to the size and weight of the Excalibur Patriot II, it is positioned between the Renault Sherpa Light Scout and the Pindad Anoa. From which i understand only 12+6 Sherpa Light Scouts were delivered to TNI-AD and no more orders or licence production by PIndad became reality. What is the reason behind this?

Here something else, a video about a computerized mortir aiming system, development started in 2015 by Hariff Defense, an Indonesian private company.

Got this photos from FB Yudi S and Made In Indonesia Industry. Two type of indigenous production tanks:
  1. P8 Light Tank by PT. SSE,
  2. Harimau Medium Tank by PT. Pindad.
No idea yet if the light tank will be procure and more procurement for Medium Tank still in big question. Yes some talks from Army to increase the procurement of both Tanks, as part to improve local supply chain. Still no official confirmation yet, that I can see.

One day those AMX-13s have to be replaced, but until now TNI orders often only small amounts of vehicles from PT SSE, for some reasons, like they do with PT Lundin.

The Pindad Badak was created to replace the Saladin, but as far as i know this project is on hold, right?

It is already operational with TNI-AD Cavalry Companies. However only in limited numbers and if not mistaken they are operating as fire support for Anoa's. Whether they will be produce more or the attention moving on to 8x8 model, remain to be seen.

A three minutes video of a live fire exercise of the air arm of the TNI-AD earlier this year.
Three minutes of awesomeness with the AH-64E, AS550, Bell 412 and Mi-17V5 in action.

As Marines part of Navy, It coulf be put in Indonesia Navy thread. However I choose to put it here, as it talk about lans asset for Indonesia Marines.

The talk for surplus AAV7A1 from USMC actually being discussed from Jokowi era. Seems now the Marines pursue again the discussion with USMC. Marinir Indonesia actually already wants more AAV7 after got 10 sample grant from ROK Marines. However talk to get more from ROK stocs has been hampered by not only budget, but US not giving permission.

For that surplus of AAV7 now being pursue again, as USMC now moving toward BAe 8x8 ACV. Well it is better anyway then BTR-50. Quite interesting mix if PT-76 being replace completely by BMP-3, while BTR-50 being replace by AAV7. This seems Marinir long term goal.

FNSS and CSG (Czechoslovak Group formerly Excalibur shown 120mm Kaplan medium tank base version (photo from Turkiye Forum Milli Savunma), now call CFL-120.

FB_IMG_1778581702502.jpg

So far TNI-AD is the only user for this medium tank (which's why I put it in this thread). Also CSG together with Turkish defense firm collaborate on several project, including Trisula Area SAM system. Whether this configuration will be offer to TNI-AD through Pindad remain to be seen. One thing that continue being rumours, that Indonesian MinDef not satisfied with Cockerill 105mm gun and turret. Will this 120mm gun and turret going to attract them ?

It is basically Leonardo 120mm Hitfact MkII, will this combo going to make more interesting then Cockerill 105mm?

Some time ago, there were unclear reports about the acquisition of a large amount of helicopters, following the wide scale natural disasters in many places in Indonesia, specially in Sumatra, end last year.

One of the different types of helicopters mentioned was the Ka-32. Some sources on internet are talking about a Ka-32 test flight by Puspenerbad in Semerang. Here in this video about a Bell 412 EPI, one Ka-32 appears in it.
Can this Ka-32 be involved in the acquisition program?

Ka-32 already in Indonesia for some time, the video above just an example. Private contractors also already use them in Papua, whether for civil projects or being use to support TNI Infrastructur projects. Thus not going to be surprising that considerable portion of the 200 Helicopters that Prabowo talk for multi functions need will be Ka-52 and Mi-17.

They are quite easy to access and got parts availabilities quite abundance in the market. Also from what I heard they can be procured with alternatives currencies instead USD and Euro. Something that matter during present market situation.

There're talks on getting Russia Aero assets for sometime, even against CAATSA. The enthusiasts communities in here talk about Su-30/35 or even Su-57. However I sense it will be more on Ka-32, Mi-17 or perhaps Mi-26. It is more affordable, and can be paid by Chinese Yuan. Something also why Chinese EV threaten Japanese cars in Indo market. They can be acquired using Chinese Yuan.

Just put photo of the armored gun vehicle above should be already replace by armoured vehicle gun below. The order of 50 that being done on SBY time, now so far only 18 being procure. Is the concept of 6x6 gun vehicle is consider obsolete ?
