Was hoping somebody here could help identify this object

A weather enthusiast in Whidbey Island, WA had a camera setup to automatically trigger to catch weather events, then keep the aperature open for 20 seconds for a long exposure.

At 4am, on June 10, his camera caught the following 20second exposure:



It was a hi-res image. Here it is zoomed in.



It looks to me like it is fatter than it looks; That only the side illuminated by the dawn light is visible, and that explains why the exhaust isn't centered.

I know that missile launches don't look like this in that the flame tail is not that long. But this is a 20 second exposure, so the super bright point right at the tail streaks a line, and the much darker smoke trail really doesn't register.


The official story is that it is a helicopter.

What do you folks think?
