Nope. The XM312 will not replace the M2HB, the XM307 will. The XM312 is just a technical backup to the XM307 in case the HEAB ammunition couldn't be developed.

The joke has always been: “Why does the US Army use so many 50 calibre weapons?” - - - “Because they haven’t found a 100 calibre weapon!”

Well the 25mm (100 calibre) is that weapon!

M2HB is the best support weapon around. The USA just ordered additional
rounds to be made for it.
