Turkish forum already talking on Turkey will be phasing out dependence on foreign air defence system. They talk on layers of air defense system produce by Turkish roketsan.

Above the article on Hisars Medium Range Air Defense System. Base on my understanding with google translate, seems this system will be develop further for long range area defense up to 100km range.

I know Sultan Erdo provide strong political support for Turkish Defense Industry. He seems used that as 'prestige voters getters' to maintain his political based. However with continues economics problem facing Turkey, I do wonder which projects in the end they are going to give priority.

Sultan Erdo political reasoning for strong indigenous defense industry, to give Turkey more independent on regional politics from internal Nato pressure. Also national prestige seems working on for his base so far. I just don't see with Turkey economics condition, they can afford all the projects. Something has to give.

Rocketsan prepare Balistic Protection system for ALTAY MBT. Seems this is the modular armour protection add on. Turkish media claim Roketsan got contract for 250 modules, seems it is indication the first batch of ALTAY mass production will be around that number.

Turkiye Army set to get two production model soon, as seem it is for their acceptance trial process. Quite a delay that mostly related to German Engine difficult sourcing, which only being resolve with South Korean - Turkiye engine agreement.

Video on Roketsan Universal Modular turret. This is 105mm gun from existing Turkiye M60A3. The trial also in that tank, but Roketsan aim to use this also on Leo2A4 and possibly on T-72.

In sense it will use each tanks existing guns but with Roketsan turret. The turret is lighter then M60A3 existing turret (18 tons vs 13 tons). However Roketsan claim it has better balistic protection capabilities and also with turret mount auto loaders.

However it is also shown increasing co-op between Ukrainian and Turkiye MIC. Something that shown Turkiye increasingly become Partner that Ukrainian MIC need to survive.

Well at least the Turkiye still see Ukrainian MIC bring something they still lack. No argument that it is Ukrainian government under investment that bring decayed on Ukrainian MIC in the first place (from their Soviet build up capabilities).

Turkey claim their indigenous engine for Always MBT are ready for production. Trouble with Germany supplies lead talk with ROK before. However then Turkey decide to move ahead with their own indigenous ones. Albeit there's rumours ROK give technical assistance on the program.

Propulsion is the area that Turkiye need to catch up, whether for land, air and sea assets. Seems they do making progress on that. This is important for Turkiye effort on increasing their MIC products marketability. At least by developing their own propulsion, they provide choices for customers.
