ABU DHABI [MENL] -- Qatar has offered its entire Mirage fighter-jet fleet to India.

The emirate has offered India all 12 of the Mirage-2000 aircraft in Qatar's air force. The India Press Information Bureau said the Mirage-2000 would be offered with a range of support and training equipment.

Qatar obtained the Mirage-2000 from France in 1997. The fighter-jets have performed air reconnaissance missions around the emirate and territorial waters in the Persian Gulf.

In November, a senior Qatari official denied that the emirate planned to sell its fleet of Mirage-2000 aircraft. But the official did acknowledge that Doha was examining a range of European and U.S. combat air platforms.
