All is well, 'cept the second to none part.' We all know it is the British military that is second to none...
My understanding is that they frown upon humor on this site.
Second to none....
Well, here is a brief background behind "second to none" quote. In the early days, after the partition of sub-continent and emergence of Pakistan, the PAF was at a very nascent stage. The founder of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah delivered a speach to the then PAF people (all ranks), the excerpts of which are as follow:
"...A country without a strong Air Force is at the mercy of any agressor. Pakistan must build her Airforce as quickly as possible. It must be an efficient Airforce -- second to none..."
So in a way, its a dream and vision of the PAF to become a potent force as per the orientation and direction given to them by the father of the nation.
Hope this would clear the position.
