They'be reveres engineered a lot of things, including the BMP-1, and have often times adapated the advanced technology as in the case with the T-72 and M-60 parts that they mixed and matched for their indigenous tank production. It seems like they're determined to develop an independent domestic MIC.

F-4I (as refered by US intelegence -claims Iran) is an upgrade of F-4C with new avionics and engines. The upgrade seems to have gone to far. Just see the pic. I am betting its a photoshop but Iranians say it is official pic released by its airforce.
