I would like to talk specifically about the thread (now closed) "Tu-95 crash in August 1976 in Sargasso Sea". I am a Cold War researcher/writer (my first book: "BEAR Flight to Liberty," about the defection of the crew of a Soviet Navy TU-95 RTs 'Bear D' from the USSR to Canada, on August 4th, 1976). About the particular incident mentioned in that thread I was able to ferret out some information from both Soviet and Canadian sources. That info was then compiled into a PDF document called "FIND THE LOST BEAR", and which will be part of my second book: "Chronicles of the Bear - Stories from the Bear Crews." In the book I will include material from both Soviet as well as American sources, including interceptions by US Navy pilots of TU-95 Bears flying over our aircraft carriers, as well as the same interception seen from the Soviet crew's side.
