The South African G6 can fire accurately to a range of 53.6 km, making it the first 155mm fully qualified and in-service gun and ammunition system breaching the 40 km range barrier, and it does so by a fair margin. The V-LAP projectile, combining base bleed and rocket motor technology. (Tech Spec below all the pics)

it failed indian army trials carried in the mahajan desert ranges along with soltam of israel only bofors, ironically that was the third series of trials in which all the three companies displayed customised and upgraded products, though the denel guns were considered favourites initially for the indian army ,they have now lost out to the swedish guns partly due to the swedish guns superior technology and also due to the denel payoff issue.it definitely is a very good gun but now several guns including the bofors guns have the ability to fire long range rounds, the south african assegai range of ammunition is compatible with nato standard guns.
also check out www.army-technology.com for more information on the gun and the ammunition.:coffee
