My understanding was that the SSN build rate was at 1.6 and they needed to up it above 2 to deliver on AUKAS. Graph is locked on 2.

I think 2.3 was the required target for AUKUS. 2 for US and the 0.3 for Australia.
Open question:
Can the ADF expand RAN submarine force personal out to 3000 or a 2:1 ratio of 24 active submariners across both west and eastern seaboards?
That was my understanding. Current build rate is hovering around 1.5 or 1.6.

There is the SLEP program for the later vairants of the 688i's . USS Cheyenne underwent this process. It may yet allow the transfer of these subs without meeting the production target specifically. 5 or 6 further boats were identified for the SLEP program. Which is pretty much our allocation of Virginia's (up to 5). It gives them an additional 10 to 15 yesrs of life.
