Not quite sure what you expect but I think the wrong people may be being blamed - what the mainstream media picks up is up to them. There were press releases from both the Minister and the Alliance on Brisbane starting trials, including the pics and the footage, which seem to be being used by the specialist media. I have no particular knowledge of what the AOR Project might have done but there was a Ministerial release about the names and the imminent keel laying.
I have to side with the others on this. One would think that NUSHIP Brisbane starting sea trials would be a story worth having on the main Defence page, or if not that, then on the News & Media subpage. Having it listed as a Ministerial release basically buries the story so that a casual visitor would not find it, unless they had hard about it from some other source and then went searching for it. The situation with HMAS Supply and HMAS Stalwart is even worse, having go into the link for More Stories on the Ministerial Release page before getting to the link to the story.
Warramunga certainly picked up a full set on route to the ME. Today's Navy Daily shows her with 8 Harpoon canisters while exercising with the Indian Navy near Goa.

Yea, saw some of these comments in the West Australian, and also a full page advert. The impression now given by Austal is that they are desperate for the OPV work. I rather Civmec/Forgacs win the work and set up a competing shipbuilding site in WA.
I seriously doubt there would be any interest in a split buy. It has no benefits for a significant increase in costs and a reduction in flexibility. The best result would be a continuation and further development of the Hobart class ships. Keeping things common has great cost benefits.
