MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Oct. 12, 2009) A landing craft, air cushion (LCAC) from Assault Craft Unit (ACU) 4 turns after exiting the well deck of the multi-purpose amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) to take Marines and equipment to the beach during an exercise Bright Star 2009 amphibious assault demonstration. Bright Star is a biennial, multinational exercise designed to improve readiness, interoperability, and strengthen the military and professional relationships among U.S., Egyptian and participating forces.
