Persian Gulf (Dec. 28, 2005) â Air squadron crew members begin work on an F-14D Tomcat aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71) as the ship leaves the port of Jebel Ali, United Arab Emirates. Roosevelt and embarked Carrier Air Wing Eight (CVW-8) are currently underway on a regularly scheduled deployment supporting maritime security operations.
