Svenska Marinen - Swedish Navy

There seems to be no thread yet about the Swedish Navy, so lets start one.

Here an article about the A26 Blekinge Class design.
The A26 has been designed from the outset to better accommodate special forces missions, and underwater drones. These features, principally the large hangar between the torpedo tubes, may also be useful in seabed warfare.

The two A26 boats (HMS Blekinge and HMS Skåne) will replace the two submarines of the Södermanland class (upgraded Västergötland Class submarines). The keel laying ceremony for HMS Blekinge took place on 30 June 2022 at Saab Kockums’ shipyard in Karlskrona, Southern Sweden. In parallel, the Gotland class will undergo a mid-life upgrade. The two A26 units are planned to enter service in 2027-2028, so soon the Svenska Marinen will be able to spy on NATO-communication cables and sabotage Russian pipelines....theoretically.

The new ship was ordered on 10 April 2017 and was laid down on 19 June 2018 at the Polish shipyard Nauta. The ship was launched on 17 April 2019 and should have been transferred later to Karlskrona, Sweden, where outfitting and finishing was planned. The vessel was expected to be commissioned in 2020.
The project was delayed in March 2021 because the Polish shipyard had economic difficulties and was unable to finish the ship.

But on 28 April 2023 Saab-Kockums handed her over to the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration, Försvarets materielverk - FMV. She will now be fitted with signal intelligence equipment under the care of the National Defence Radio Establishment (Försvarets radioanstalt - FRA).

The new ship 74 meter long HMS Artemis is to be commissioned by the end of 2023 and will have a displacement of 2200 tons.
