The Saab JAS 39 C/D will stay in the fleet after 2026 for sure and maybe also after 2030. Only 60 JAS 39 E/F has been ordered and the Dassault/Alenia/Saab/ EADS nEUROn is still in development, so its a logic decision.

The Saab 340 and 2000 are home-made Swedish aircrafts, but sadly they are not anymore in production, so the GlobalEye, based om the Bombardier Global 6000, is a logic choice.

From last month - a commitment to numbers. Altogether, 60 Gripen E & 40 C/D, though no breakdown between C & D. Also mentions procurement of an air-launched cruise missile but doesn't say which.
Update: Sweden spells out Gripen, missile, and AEW&C plans

Yes, they do not give any information about the air launched cruise missile. The RBS-15 Mk.IV Gungnir or Taurus KEPD 350 will be the most logic choice, or maybe both.
Probably the Swedish Defence Minister doesnt want to tell it yet, or they do not have made a decision yet.

Google algorithm put me to this article on SAAB plan of A36. Swedish supersonic bomber which by look of it shown similar plan and strategic function with French Mirage IV.

This is in time when Sweden still serious on building its own nuclear bomb (will be interesting topic on its own).

Interesting design, and in my opinion quite ahead of its time. All being stop, when Sweden decided to stop its own nuclear bomb program.

One way trip concept with one bomb, just like French aim with its Mirage IV initially.

Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) has signed a contract with Saab for two GlobalEye aircraft with deliveries planned during 2027.

Saab’s GlobalEye features the Ericsson Erieye Extended Range radar, which has a range of more than 550 kilometres, as well as a suite of advanced sensors and a command and control system integrated into the Bombardier Global 6000 aircraft.

The SEK 7,3 billion contract also includes options that enable FMV to order up to two additional GlobalEye.

Expected, in view of current events. I think Flygvapnet was probably keen & it was just a question of money, & Putin's indirectly & unintentionally made that available.
For decades Europe's defence deteriorated because politicians don't give a s**t about it.
Thanks to Putin the European governments start to wake up and realize that defence is not an unnecessary luxury but the most important and powerful way to protect a country's interests and existence.

So actually we have to be thankful to him.

In June 2024, the Flygvapnet will retire the Saab Sk60 (Saab 105) after more than 60 years of service. The Skolflygplan 60 (Sk60) high-wing twinjet trainer officially made its first flight on 29 June 1963. The Sk60 will be replaced by the Grob G120TP as the new basic training aircraft.

For the long term, Sweden is exploring a new advanced trainer, but the most logic choice will be in my opinion the Boeing-Saab T-7. It is not only co-developed and partly built by Saab, but it also has a similar engine with the JAS39.
