I have just come to know from very reliable sources in the PAF, that the govt has allocated a cool $12-$15billion over the next five years to the PAF.This is to be spent on acquiring new aircraft& sam systems.
any opinions with regards to the above keeping in mind the options open to the PAF will be appreciated.
In my personal opinion the money should be spent as follows:
(1) 160 Grippens [@ $35 million a pop ---->total $5.6billion]
Plus
(2)48 Raffales[@ $50 million a piece ------> total $2.4 billion]
The rest could be spent on acquision of HAWK or other similar sam systems and/or long range stand off weapons.

According to my sources the money for AWACS acquisition is seperate from the above fund. :smokingc:
