Nike Missile Batteries, Solvents and Underground Storage Tanks

Hi! I'm working with a team of environmental scientists assessing potential contamination at former Nike Missile sites, specifically on Long Island, NY (but I'd still love to hear about sites in other states). I'm pretty sure that solvents and degreasers were used for maintenance and other things at many of the Nike sites, but what I'd like to figure out is where these solvents and other chemicals were typically stored. Was it in an underground storage tank? Where were waste solvents, chemicals, and oils disposed of, and was the waste stored in underground tanks at any point?

Anyone having any experience with or knowledge of Nike Missile sites and operations who could shoot me a line would really help me out here!

Also, I'm brand new to this forum so let me know if there's anything I'm missing.
