hi, I'm currently a Squadron Leader electronics officer in RAF. I'm considering trying to transfer to RAAF as I like being in the military but am a bit bored here and like Australia a lot. While the recruitment web site is fine up to a point, it doesn't give all the information I need to decide whether I should make the move, especially as I would take a rank/pay cut if successful in transferring.
Grateful for some pros and cons on the RAAF as well as info on postings. For example, here in UK, I tend to get posted every couple of years - the longest I've stayed in the same area being 3 years. Is this the same in Oz and if so, is there much assistance in getting the ankle-biters into good schools (in UK, public schooling is a nightmare)?
