There is a lot of biases present in the western media which is visible and one of the primary reason for the unpopularity of media outlets and TV channels among general people. Like for example the recent US elections where people criticised big media channels like CNN, NBC, ABC and CBS for being too bias towards Hilary Clinton and unfair towards Donald Trump. People started calling the mainstream media fake news, and similarly, media outlets like FOX were labelled as bias towards Donald Trump and unjust towards Hilary Clinton while covering the election campaigns. Another example of media biases or unfairness can be found in coverage of the war in Iraq, Syria and Yemen. Where each attack or airstrike executed by America or its allies is labelled as killing soldiers and enemies whereas every strike from Russia, Iran or Syrian government is marked as an attack against civilians and killing of innocent lives. Similarly, any terrorist attack that occurs in Western countries gets way more coverage and attention than a terrorist attack in the Middle East or other countries.
    Thank you

Hi Jasminerawat, the points you raise are interesting, however this is a defence forum. Political discussion specifically is frowned upon, and what little leniency it gets is granted in so much as it directly relates to military and defense related issues. We are going to leave this thread closed, but you are welcome to browse the other threads and participate in discussion.
