According to the intergovernmental agreement between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus, a new batch of 300-milimeter tactical missile systems "Polonez" was delivered to Azerbaijan

The Polonez is a new Belarusian multiple launch rocket system. It was developed to replace older Soviet 220 mm Uragan and 300 mm Smerch artillery rocket systems.

The Polonez is based on MZKT-7930 heavy high mobility chassis. The same 8x8 chassis is used as a base for a number of Russian missile systems and other applications. Vehicle is powered by a YaMZ-846 turbocharged diesel engine, developing 500 hp. Vehicle has a full-time all-wheel drive and is fitted with a central tyre inflation system. It has good cross-country mobility and can operate off-road.

The first contract involves the transfer of ten sets of MLRS (there are rockets, transport-charging machines, control stations, radar stations, etc.). Legal documents are at the final stage, and the client "finishes solving their financial issues." In this case, according to the source, the speech "about the loan from Minsk does not go."

Earlier this year, the Chairman of the State Committee for the Provision of Industry of Belarus, Oleg Dvortelev, stated that the committee was working on the task of exporting the Polonaise MLRS in 2018. The target for 2018 is exported, including the multiple rocket launcher system to the CIS countries, the CSTO, and the foreign countries, "said Oleg Dvortelev.

Azerbaijani expert Uzeir Jafarov, touching on the issue of supplies, said that this will be an additional impetus for the opponents of Azerbaijan, who do not yet understand the seriousness of the republic's intentions to restore its territorial integrity. This is a very good choice, timely, and this will strengthen the power and combat readiness of the republic's armed forces, "he stressed.

The first batch was received this summer
