OK I will bite.

All this is noted but this detail is available on a number of web sites. What do you wish to add to this data.

If you have insights into where the Turkish Navy is headed, or how they use their systems etc, that would be of interest.

Essentially you need to add a point to your posts.

Turkey has announced a program to design, develop and produce a 300+ metre STOBAR Aircraft Carrier by 2029. What we know so far from Turkish media:

ICDAS Shipyard has acquired a new dry dock which measures 370m by 70m for this sole purpose.

Turkey intends to field a CV variant of the TF-X fighter (or another fighter to be developed with ROSTEC of Russia).

TEKSAV Teknoloji, a Turkish company which produces Aircraft Arresting systems has been asked to develop the STOBAR system.

Turkey's success in developing surface-combatant carrier escorts (AAW Frigates, MILDEN Submarine etc) has paved the way for the CV program
There is a graphic at this link. http://www.star.com.tr/ekonomi/ilk-ucak ... r-1345284/

Seems a pretty bold move by Turkey. That is a big ship for what is essentially the Mediterranean and the Black Sea but I don’t see any reason Turkey couldn’t build the ship and a STOBAR carrier is less complex than going full CATOBAR. Will also be interesting to see what they equip it with as the TF-X still has a long way to go while I have seen a rumour that a co-produced fighter with Russia will try and revive the YAK-141 concept...

Either way is an interesting further development. Turkey has really been pushing an enhanced and upgraded military even before the recent political turmoil.

I don't know what to call this Erdogan ambition. He keep pumping money to defence infrastructure project, while in same time he's losing market confidence on Turkish MacroEconomics management.

They are not yet implementing their LHD. First one as far as I know still in building stage, and since it's similar LHD as Aussies ones..and considering how long Australia time needed to fully integrated them..same challanges will face Turkey on this.

Now they want to have full STOBAR carrier in just 12 years ?

The interesting issue with the Turkish LHD is they aren't building the upgraded Aussie version they are building the original Spanish version without modification using all the same suppliers with the same equipment.

Still it will take time for Turkish navy to get them fully operational and integrated them in their operational regime.

That will create huge undertaking on Turkish Navy..and then come this talk on Stobar..
Even China with much bigger budget and resources need more than a decade for preparation, before finishing half build Varyag as Liaoning. Now Erdogan regime come out with this in just 12 years from scratch..while in same time they are still have to integrated the LHD..

If they have as much as Chinese resources..then it's perhaps doable...even with that it's already huge undertaking..

If certain US senators get their way, Turkey's only option might be STOBAR as they won't be getting F-35As or F-35Bs.

There are quite a few off the shelf options available to them. The British, Italians, Indians, Chinese and even the Russians would be happy to take the money from them. Of course America might not want to supply the F-35B if the Turks are seen working with the Russians or Chinese.

It is understandable that Turkiye is developing an own naval 76 mm gun because of the high procurement costs and long delivery time for the OTO Melara 76 mm guns, but the Turkish MKE 76 mm gun looks very similar to the Italian one.

Here a closer look on the 76 mm gun replacing the Modèle 68 100 mm gun on board the Beyloz F503, a D'Estienne d'Orves aviso transferred from France to Turkiye in 2002.

Initial detail on Milden Submarine as follow up Turkish submarine program from licensing 209 then 214 and preparing to build their own design. In sense similar path with ROK with KSS1 (209-1400), KSS2 (214) then KSS3 which is already ROK indigenous design.

Logical step by step preparation spanning on two decades more on learning curve program for Submarine development. No illusion on thinking to fasten learning curve program, but in the end in practise cause delay on the learning curve progress. Just like one country submarine program that shown increasing side tracking, with indecesion.
