ROK Marines

First off, I am not exactly sure where to put this, but because the Marines are part of the navy, I am putting it here.

Does anyone know what kind of equipment ROK Marines? j am most puzzled by their helmets, pretty much all the pictures I get portray them wearing something that heavily resembles the M1 helmet. Are these actually surplus M1s?

Also, I know that ROK forces were in Vietnam. Did they play any important role?

Wiki and Google are your friend.

The helmets in use are of the traditional steel-type (similar to the M1 and M80) and Kevlar helmets. Some units, such as Recon units, prefer the use of boonie hats.
Indeed they were, there are sections in Wikipedia on the subject of ROK Participation in Korea.

Table 1: ROK troops in Vietnam (1964-1972) * marines only *

Londo, please try to do some basic research before making posts. Some of what you have posted you could have found out yourself with five minutes and google. This is a site for discussion, preferably in depth, not a Q&A service.

That said, I hope you understand why we discourage that kind of posting style, and perhaps I will see you around in some discussions.
