What missile system is this? It's not from the PGS program, is it?

Somewhere in a German magazine (maybe Spiegel but I can't find it again ) I read that the mentioned missile is the GMLRS.

Nothing new but defenitely effective. And the incompetend media may very well make a new wonderweapon out of it...

Read the article you quoted. If you read it, the article states specifically that General Carter said the weapon the Afghans saw was most likely the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, or Himars.
