Turkey wins. Turkey has an extremely professional military that has beaten the Greeks many times. Plus, the Greek part of Cyprus is basically independent while the North is still occupied by Turkey so it would overrun the South before Greece could put any troops on the island. Finally, the Greeks are in possecion of lots of small vunerable islands in the Agean that could be quickly and easily captured or hit by Turkish artillery. The Greeks would lose Cyprus and any important Agean islands that are close to Turkey in short order. Besides the Turkish army has superior equipment and combat experience. All Greece has is "hoplite ethos".

Questionable!

I would rather think the result would be some kind of draw, as Greece may have less but superior trained, modern and disciplined forces, especially considering the Air Force. It is like David against Goliath. Turkey would be able to win some ground because of their numerical superiority, but will suffer more losses than acceptable for the mentally sane.

There is the Turkish Air Force. Overall inferioir to the Greeks, especially in air defence.

I also read about the Greek Army and the Cyproit national Guard. Both are formidable forces. I have decided to reverse my opinion. The Turks would not have much success, unless they got their large numbers of Leopard tanks into play on Cyprus quickly, before the Greeks could get their Leopards into play. They are about equal in number, but the Greek aligned Cyproit national guard has some good anti-armour capability of its own. They have T-80s, VAB troop carriers outfitted with Milan missles, AMX-30s and more. Their infantry is well trained as well. The Greek Navy could harry the Turks in any landings they make. The two countries are evenly matched.

I'm pretty sure NATO would win.

It's not a very good question. What scenario. What are the strategic goals of the two countries.

Assuming a limited war, if Greece attacks then it will probably lose, if Turkey attacks then it will probably lose. If they can both appear innocence then the one with the better diplomatic, propaganda, and alliance management.

In a limited war most of the hardware will be irrelevent as neither government will want to escalate.
