So a ceasefire has been reached between Israel & Hamas. With more than 145 people killed on the palestinian side and 5 people killed on the Israeli side. Does anyone expect this ceasefire to last long enough to ensure a long-term solution ?
Personally, I don't. I have a feeling things may go sour in a few weeks again, if not a few days, given Hamas' lack of restraint. It's kind of hard to get a group that wants to wipe your entire country off the map to negotiate a long-term peace process with you.
Also, what are your thoughts on the military outcome of this conflict ?
To me, this sems quite a military success for Israel, with 100 successful strikes by the Israeli military, including a media building being used as an intelligence centre and Hamas' ministry of internal security ( whatever that means :whip ).
