I guess everyone is familiar with illegal activities of authorities of Georgia like cooperation with terrorists, drugs and weapons illicit trading, etc. But these days it turned out that illegal business in Georgia developing fast and now people became the goods. Lately a black man came to European office of our legal aid bureau and asked for help. He reported that he originally from Africa and always wanted to study in Europe, but due to difficult process of getting visa, he decided going to Georgia and study in Tbilisi, furthermore country's authorities actively made advertisements of perspectives to live and work in Georgia, and of course visa regime in Georgia was very attractive and that made many people believe that in Georgia they can get education and later move to Europe, but in fact after coming to Georgia they were met by people, they were called guides, who took away their documents and got them into the depth of Georgia where they were forced to work without payment and other social guarantees. Our client was lucky enough to get his documents back and escape with help of locals. And now we are going to the European Court of Human Rights against Georgia and to tell of an incident. And my little advice, do not let yourself to get into Georgian trap.

This sort of thing is common everywhere in the former USSR, not limited to Georgia. In general the ex-USSR is not a safe place.

There is a very specific term for this illegal activity, and that is Human Trafficking. It is also an International problem, as opposed to something confined to just Georgia, or even just ex-Soviet and/or satellite nations. In point of fact, many former Eastern Bloc nations are sources/points of origin for trafficked people, who are then trafficked into Western Europe and/or North America in many instances.

This is a legal and diplomatic problem both within various nations, and internationally between nations. However, it is not a military or defence matter, and therefore Off Topic. Thread Locked.
