The International Committee of Military Medicine (ICMM) celebrates its 90th anniversary in 2011 !

Founded in 1921 thanks to Capitain W. S. BAINBRIDGE, MD (US NAVY) and Commander Medical Officer J. VONCKEN (Belgique), the International Committee of Military Medicine wants to improve the cooperation between all military health services around the wolrd.

Further to nearly one century of existence, the ICMM is now a reference in medico-military matters. Thanks to its international forum, it facilitates the sharing of knowledge between medical professionnals of armed forces.
Many regional congresses, symposiums and courses are already planned to be held in States members like China, Saudi Arabia or Côte d’Ivoire, on several topics like surgery, veterinary sciences, military operations in specific environements and response to natural emergency.
Next November the 39th mondial Congress on Military Medicine will be held in Nigeria under the aegis of the ICMM.
