Weaponized Quad-copters

Hey everyone,

As you all know drone technology is developing exponentially and drones are used for very different purposes like holding chainsaw or movie camera (even medical equipments). Looking through in this perspective, a quadcopter with right qualifications can also hold a weapon and aim with it (assuming if it can hold a chainsaw it can also hold a gun).Since a quadcopter equipped with gun would be:

Cheap ( with respect to huge military drones)
Compact
Fast
Agile

Why not military around the world are not investing on them (or do they?)
Do you guys think it is feasible?

At least for pure recon commercial quadcopters are in use. Apart from semi-official use in conflicts like Ukraine and Syria commercial quads are in use with regular forces. For example the dutch use one for support of their naval boarding teams and the German navy is testing the DIIY Phantom 4 for the same purpose.

The question is, what does a small flying gun brings to the table? It eats heavily into range and endurance. And with an actual weapons system on it there are much higher hurdles for safety and reliability additionaly eating into the weight margin.

Easier to call in a mortar strike than to try to use some flying peashooter to questionable effect.
