SAAB ''electronic surveillance payload''

I refer to this link which reports of SAAB receiving an order for an ''electronic surveillance payload'' [ESP] system. This system is to be used for ''training purposes'' and '' is intended to enhance the situational awareness of unmanned aerial vehicles''.

Saab to provide Malaysia with ESP system - IHS Jane's 360

Can anyone help me understand what an ''electronic surveillance payload '' is and what its possible uses - apart from training purposes - are? Is ''electronic surveillance payload'' just another term for an ''airborne ESM system''? Thank you.

The primary purpose is to provide enemy electronic order of battle through emitter identification and location.( electronic order is again deciphered intercepted codes via transmission which is nothing but again array ,pattern of communication which gives insight on the enemies orientation.

designed to operate at an standalone ESM system integrated with UAV systems and based on SAAB emitter location system (ELS) with an improved probability of intercept for searched radars

The airborne portion is responsible for analysis of radar emission via UAV datalink to the ground based remote terminal.

It is integrated with a controller.
