RAAF Pilot Specialist Testing Day - I have some questions on this testing day...?

Anyone that can help would be greatly appreciated...

I have just recently undergone a YOU session with Defence Force Recruiting...
I am eligible to become an officer for the Air Force which means I can become a Pilot...
This means that the next phase of testing is a Specialist Testing Day which I will undergo very soon...

My question is what is involved with the specialist testing day?
I was told briefly what will go on by a Recruiting Officer but they can't say too much about the day as they are restricted to say so...

What math’s is involved throughout the testing period?
What can I study to prepare for these tests?
Any past experience with the Specialist testing or tips would be greatly appreciated...

Thank-You

The maths is not highly advanced, it is mostly related to your ability to quickly solve simple maths in your head. Look up information on 'Mental Dead Reckoning' and it will give you an idea of what I mean. The Mental DR is used to work out speed and navigation calculations in your head as you fly. You should not need to be fantastic at this during the testing, however you need to have a grasp of the concept so they can build on it during training.

As for studying, apart from the Mental DR make sure you can spell and write to a normal standard. You will also be assessed on a few other things like coordination which you can not really study for.

Make sure your general defence knowledge is up to scratch, just simple stuff like when ANZAC day is and what rifles the ADF uses for example.

Good luck.
