After the British deployed the first tanks. They realised that the huge land ships they used in order to breach the defences of the Germans were far too slow in which to capitalise the breakthroughs achieved. What was needed was something a lot faster in which to exploit the collapse of the enemy defences.
Thus was born the Whippet. Smaller, lighter and faster than the leviathans employed by the British in the initial attack, they were used to run riot behind enemy lines once a hole had been punched through. Powered by 2 London bus engines. It was crewed by 3 man and was armed with four machine guns in a fixed turret at the rear.
