At sea aboard USS Hamilton (DDG 60) Oct. 25, 1995 -- The guided missile destroyer USS Hamilton (DDG 60) operating off the Hawaiian Islands during scheduled missile launch exercises. Destroyers and guided missile destroyers operate in support of carrier battle groups, surface action, amphibious and replenishment groups. Destroyers primarily perform anti-submarine warfare duty while guided missile destroyers are multi-mission, anti-air, anti-surface, and anti-submarine warfare combatants.
