Based on the chasis of the ubiquitous M113 family of armoured vehicles.Tracked Rapier held 8 missles (as opposed to 4 for the towed version) which took 30 seconds to bring on line instead of the previous 30 minutes. However shortcomings soon came out in the wash when it transpired that the vehicle has a top speed of 15mph which meant it was unable to keep ip with the battle groups it was meant to support. Due to this (And the demise of the USSR) it was quietly removed from service by the late 1980s, however it was brought back into service for its swansong during the first Gulf war in 1991.
