Due to popularity of DefenceTalk.com and some of the standards that it has introduced over the years, some young teenagers are forced to make websites that are direct clones of DefenceTalk and its partner sites or sites which resemble their look, feel and general layout.

To elaborate further, any website setup by amateur juvenile delinquents, which is a clone of DefenceTalk (if it looks like DefenceTalk in ANY way, it is a clone) or any other leading website is not something that DefenceTalk community condones. The direct cloning of the DefenceTalk website, look, feel, procedures reflect a great deal on the intellect behind these (clone) sites and their "administrators" who are incomptent enough to NOT come up with a distinct website with distinct set of procedures and standards!

How to tell if it is a clone?

According to DefenceTalk this is very simple. Just visit:
http://www.DefenceTalk.com
And if you ever come across another website that looks and feels the same, you know it is a clone and should not be trusted nor should you waste your time on it.

If someone cannot come up with their own distinct way of designing, layout, rules, procedures, standards and putting a website together; and is driven to copy DefenceTalk and other leading professional defence websites, their creations are not worth your time. It is DefenceTalk's strong belief that such "Administrators or Webmasters" are not really worth their salt and that you deserve better. If you so choose to still become a member of such clone websites, be forewarned that you will only end up having to put up with the bragging that follows and the constant questionnaires asking you if you like the so-called 'new' features of the site.

DefenceTalk has also received threatening emails and hack attempts from the owner of these clone websites.

DefenceTalk has yet to ascertain as to why this has been happening. Perhaps it is selfish personal motives, but what DefenceTalk's Administration is very sure of is that these acts would end soon just as attempts to clone PakDef/PDF, SinoDefence.com and SinoDefenceForum.com failed in the past by these same people.

Here are some of the deceptive tactics used by these insane individuals:

-Send spam messages (PM, email, etc.) using your website's forum software to your members. To control this defencetalk has had PM restrictions in place for members 50 posts and below, this feature was forwarded to DefenceTalk's partner sites and is being used with good effect.

-Copy posts from major defence forums made by other people and post them on the clone sites and then posting on various forums with tag lines where trolls from the clone websites quotes a text or post as a reference. To control this kind of irresponsible behavior, DefenceTalk was able to censor the cloned website domain names and encourages webmasters of political and defence forums to do the same.

-Make multiple nicknames on their websites to generate "activity" when there really isn't any. The owners are usually banned on all major defence communities along with past domain names and current ones.

-Create posts and threads that encourage flame wars, angry reaction from various members (India vs Pakistan, Greece vs. Turkey etc.). This is done to get "enemy" country to get back at it's enemy country and cycle of hate and anger perpetuated by administrators of the clone websites continues and it is their way of generating traffic and activity.

-It is widely believed that these website(s) use pirated/illegal/unpaid scripts.

In addition to above, it has also come to our attention that some extremist elements trolling around the internet maybe spreading false and inaccurate information about DefenceTalk and its affiliations with other sites.

These extremists (most probably include members banned on DT forums...and some more than once for various reasons) have no other choice but to practice cyber terrorism, intellectual terrorism and mislead people with lies driven by personal interest, hate, anger and mental disorders.

If you notice something of this nature where user is blatantly throwing accusations and other nonsense, please drop us an email and let us know. We know, our policies are strict and harsh and some users will end up being banned (for right reasons) but that does not mean someone should provide you with wrong and misleading information about DefenceTalk.

If you have any questions about DefenceTalk, it's policies and how it's run, all you have to do is ask and we would be glad to respond to your queries.

Over the years, DefenceTalk has met with great success. What it has been able to accomplish is something, which few other websites manage: DefenceTalk provides friendly and courteous atmosphere for members as well as visitors to read and discuss topics that shape our world, implement and enforce strict code of conduct for everyone to follow, and encourage respect for each other in under tough and tense circumstances. In addition to that, DefenceTalk also has one of the largest military pictures gallery on the internet along with most up to date defence news and inforamtion sections. All this has been a remarkable achievement.

The credit of such things goes to the moderating team that understood DefenceTalk administration's vision and idea of an authentic global defence portal. The other credit really goes to over 14,400+ members in its greater defence community of websites who know and follow the rules to make it the best defence website on the net for international military and strategic defence issues and DefenceTalk Administration Team is most certain that with everyone's help, there should be no doubt that it will continue to do this for years to come. DefenceTalk is your global place where professionals come to talk!
