Defence Training Programme "squeezed"

The Financial Times has reported that concerns have been raised over the £11 billion military training programme as its cost has risen by 10 per cent.

The MoD is fully committed to delivering the Defence Training Review Package 1 Project and the Defence Technical Academy at St Athan, which the article is referring to.

Jointly The DTR team continue to work constructively with the Metrix Consortium who has been awarded the project, to achieve an affordable, value for money, acceptable and deliverable programme.

Negotiations with Metrix are ongoing and both parties are working hard to drive down costs and obtain maximum value for money for the taxpayer.
