I've always wondered why icebreakers don't use transducers to help break up ice....
Power requirements, plus you have to hit the resonant frequency, which won’t be easy given how irregular sea ice is. Pack ice in particular has many air pockets to dampen transmission and in has a very irregular underwater profile.

He also also examines future developments and discusses how the venerable LM2500 has developed from initially 20,000 shp to the latest 42,000shp.

Interesting presentation that illustrates GE’s dominance in the marine market. His silence on the Zumwalt was notable especially given his comments regarding hybrid electric propulsion which he considers is the future path for naval ships. The 52 MW LM6000 is a brute beating the MT30 by 10 MW. I guess RR is working on the MT55.:)
