This is a discussion on The new members introduction thread. within the Intros & Off Topic forum, part of the Global Defense & Military category; Welcome to defence talk. Read the rules and enjoy your stay....
I am, as you may be able to guess by this message if not my post count and join date, a new member. I spent the time before I posted familiarising myself with the rules, and can best sum them up by saying "be nice and don't clog up the forum".
Currently in the AAFC, planning to stay in there for the couple years longer before I finish high school and enlist in the ADF. Planning to join the RAAF (not as a pilot, for some reason people think everyone who joins the RAAF wants to be a pilot).
I heavily study military tactics and strategy, and unlike some people I know could write up a long document on the differences between both.
I like professonalism and dislike unprofessionalism, which has turned out to be a good quality.
Hi, guys!
I`m new, haven`t read the rules, but shall try not to break them.
Years ago I served in a Warsaw pact army and from that time emerged as a pacifist.
Most interested in the Royal Navy, esp. the new carriers, submarines and the type 45 destroyers.
Happy to be in this particular forum!
Welcome guys, as above, read the rules and enjoy DT.
Hey im quite new to forums like this, will try not break the rules (the mods are quite strict thats what made me warm to this forum) Served for the British army between 2002-2006 and a general defence enthusiast, particularly interested in tactics and strategy

I'm new here and have been reading some "entertaining" posts..
I served in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Armoured Crewman and was assigned to the Armoured Recce Sqd....prior to enlisting to the Reg Forces I was an active reservist and served in a light Infantry regiment.
My qualifications ranged from Infantry, machine gunner, anti armour and mortarman ( I was a bit of a qualifications hound) and then to Armoured Crewman, armoured driver, Crew Commander and Recce.
I was active during the "phase out" of the C1A1 ( FN ) series to the Colt Canada C7 series and used Both...I have a "few" personal opinions on that change over...lol
Cheers and hope to find some other international Ex service people to discuss practical experiences with......
