U.S. Black Projects Get More Funding

Well in a recent article on Jane's Online, the well known aviation technology author Bill Sweetman reports that again this year the U.S. has increased it's funding for Black Projects again and in some programs dramatically.

While the articles is short and talks specifically about the increase of funding with certain projects and programs, it is still dramatic the amount of money that is being spent on technology and prototypes that no one knows about.

Some people believe that the U.S. military is not incapable to hiding technology like "Stealth" programs from the public anymore. In reality the USAF for over 20's year held the F-117 program in complete secrecy. The USAF and CIA even used UFO stories to help hide the testing of these aircraft. Though it is more difficult to hide programs now, the military and aerospace industries are still very capable. Boeing kept secret their small manned technology demonstrator for the X-45 program secret for a number years. No one knew of the aircraft until Boeing held a news conference displaying the aircraft for the first time.

In general, the money being spent still fuels rumors of new technology and aircraft including the "Switchblade" and a possible manned light shuttle. Even though those are rumors, I look forward to the day's like the late 1980's when the F-117 and B-2 programs came to light. It is exciting to learn to learn about these new technologies, and what the U.S. making now since they declassified old programs.

Were cooking up some beauts right now. That is if they aren't flying already. While they aren't completely secret the capabilities of these systems certainly are. For instance we know were going to have a hypersonic bomber but we don't know when, or exactly what it will be capable of. I suspect it will deliver precision bunker busting nukes among other things.

For instance in 1978 a British General wrote a book called, The Third World War, in which he made references to the F-117 flying successful missions against the Soviet CNC right before the ground war. He called the aircraft "Frisbees" but he was spot on with the F-117, and this long before they were operational. Indeed it was the very year the skunk works started the project,"the war was set in 1985".

And now in the information age its even more difficult to keep things completely secret. I imagine you can see some interesting things flying around the Nevada deserts at night still.:usa

do not forget for every action there is a reaction, usa was thinking in a way to make a fighter/bomber with less detection on radar so they can use it to bombs any target in the depth of ussr without being shot down in case war exploded between them so they made stealth bombers and fighters like f117a, b-2 spirit and the current project of f22 stealth, after the world knows about this stealth tecnology, in other places in the world they started to devise techniques to encounter these technology and now there are few techniques used in the radars to catch a stealth plane on the radar like the radar that uses radio waves (mobile waves) and there are other types of radar the transmitter transmits the waves then the waves reflect from the 1st layer of atmosphere (troposphere) then it hits the plan from above then hits the troposphere again and finally recieved by a reciever put away from the transmitter and most likely the reciever is put on a high land, after all of that usa have to devise another technology and make changes on their older technologies to survive in face of its encounter and so on in the rest of the weapons, so that i think usa will increase their defense budget many times to fit todays technologies that is my opinion

there are other types of radar the transmitter transmits the waves then the waves reflect from the 1st layer of atmosphere (troposphere) then it hits the plan from above then hits the troposphere again and finally recieved by a reciever put away from the transmitter and most likely the reciever is put on a high land said:
The ADF allready operates such a device. The Jindabee Operational Radar Network or JORN has a range thats beyond the horizon (3500km or more!) and has a stealth detection capability. It works by bouncing high frequency radio waves of the ionosphere (a layer of ionised gas in the upper atmosphere). Each of the transmitters is over 3 km's long and puts over 20 Kw of elecromagnetic radiation into the air. I think it can detect stealth aircraft due to the high frequency radio waves used, 3 to 30GH, or the angle those waves hit. Most radars are line of sight and most stealth dezignes (not the composition of their materials) are designed to deflect horisontal radio waves away from the reciever.
