Late delivery of A380, Airbus stock plunges

Because of electrical wiring problems with the entertainment systems, Airbus announced significant delays to the deliveries of the Airbus A380. At the same time earnings were changed for the next several quarters, into red ink. Airllines and Airbus stockholders are upset. Airbus stock plunges a quarter of its value in days. It appears the Airbus A350 development will be delayed several years too. Airbus is in a financial crisis. Will the A400 program proceed?

This sounds to me like a bit of American sour grapes.

You are probably not old enough to remember but the 747 when it came out was delayed and they actually had to park almost half of them subsitiuting concrete for engines on the ramp.

In it's flight test program they changed engines over 50 times.
On its first service flight they had cargo door problems and an engine overheat on take off. It was replaced by another aircraft that departed hours late. There were continual delays and problems for years.

In short it was much more of a disaster than the A380 will be.

And one more thing...what does this have to do with defence?
