Defense Companies in Germany

Hi,

i am currently a Master student in aeronautical engineering in Germany, and i plan to do my final year thesis at a defense company here. I was wondering if you could help me find companies in the field of aeronautics.

So far i found:

Diel BGT Defence
LFK-Lenkflugkörpersysteme GmbH (MBDA)
EADS N.V. - Defence & Security
Rheinmetall Air Defence AG

I think those are all pretty big companies but i am sure that there must be also smaller companies (sub contractors) around.

I don't know to what extend the following actually do work in the field of aeronautics, but here are some German companies that work on military aircraft:
PFW Aerospace - Pfalz-Flugzeugwerke
Premium AEROTEC
EMT Penzberg (UAV's)

And you could also browse through the member list of the German Aerospace Industries Association (Bundesverband der Deutschen Luft- und Raumfahrtindustrie e.V., BDLI)

Gotta add those three companies usually mistaken for being parts of EADS : Airbus, Eurocopter and MTU Aero.

Other than the ones named, you have a number of middle-class small companies, most of which are on the verge of or in bankruptcy or in post-bankruptcy restructuring (see: Grob, Thielert, Dornier Fairchild, ...). And a number of airlines with maintenance facilities in Germany, on about any scale.
