I just finished the book Curahee about the 101 Airborne divsion during there jump on Normandy. It is a great book and I would suggest it to anyone. It left me wondering how the high level officers of the airborne divsions got to the battlefield. Did they parachute with the rest of the men? Did they stay in England? My best hypothesis is that they took gliders in. But I am not sure.
