Looks like laminated or ceramic armour, possibly Dorchester.
The old Warrior armour was good, but this stuff looks bloody amazing.

The Bulldog apc also uses this armour, it can shrug off all insurgent weaponry with minimal damage and no hull penetration.

EDIT: Because i havn't made 15 posts you'll have to copy and paste the links, obviously adding WWW.

The British army doesn't use reactive armour and hasn't done so for years. It's dangerous for people that are around the vehicle when the reactive armour detonates.

Ahem, what about the ERA on the lower frontal hull of the Challi 2?

Ok, it looks like they are thinking about using additional passive armor instead of the ERA after they encountered the RPG-29 in Iraq but nevertheless they use ERA.

Hmm you are right, C2 did use ERA on the hull...
Now it has Dorchester, and a remote operated machine gun.

Jup, that's what I meant with them getting away from ERA and turning to add-on passive armor.

I've looked at that image of the Wrap Two armour a number of times and it just doesn't jive with any passive armour I've seen. WHY bother ridging the armour if its passive? Don't make sense.............

The armour is crinkled or as you say ridged because shaped charges require a flat surface that must be hit straight on.

I also have 2 more pics of Challenger2 with upgraded armour and remote machine gun.

The brackets around http need removing when you have copy and pasted it.

I know why it's crinkled or ridged IF its shaped charge which is exactly WHY I said it doesn't make sense when other people say its passive!
